To find mutual fund distributors in Delhi, search AMFI’s “Locate a Mutual Fund Distributor” tool by city and PIN code, shortlist two or three with an active ARN near you, and meet them in person or on a call. Carry your PAN, Aadhaar-linked mobile number and bank details so KYC can start the same day.
If you want the checklist for judging whether a distributor is any good, read our guide on how to find a good mutual fund distributor. This post covers the Delhi part: finding one near you, what the first meeting looks like, where to get paperwork done in the city, and what to do if something goes wrong.
How do I find mutual fund distributors near me in Delhi?
The most reliable way to find mutual fund distributors near you in Delhi is AMFI’s own search tool, because it lists only registered distributors. AMFI is the Association of Mutual Funds in India, the body that registers every distributor and gives them an ARN (AMFI Registration Number).
- Open com/locate-distributor.
- Choose the location filters and enter Delhi as the city.
- Add your PIN code to narrow the list. For example, 110058 for Janakpuri, 110034 for Pitampura or 110001 for Connaught Place.
- Open the results and note each distributor’s name, ARN and address.
- If your own PIN shows few results, try the PIN of your office or a neighbouring area.
Directories give you more names but less certainty. Justdial, for instance, lists 148 mutual fund distributors in Delhi, and the listings there mix distributors with insurance agents and stock brokers. Use directories for reviews and phone numbers, and AMFI to confirm registration.
You can test the tool on us first. Search ARN 275889 and you’ll see MutualFundWala’s registration and its status. Do the same for any distributor you’re considering.
Should you pick a distributor you can meet in person or one who works online?
Pick an in-person distributor if you or your family want paperwork handled face-to-face, and an online one if you’re comfortable doing everything on your phone. Delhi gives you both options, and plenty of distributors offer a mix.
| Your Situation | What Usually Works Better |
|---|---|
| First investment, lots of questions | Meeting in person, at least once |
| Parents or older relatives investing | In person, with someone who speaks their language |
| Regular SIPs only, comfortable with apps | Online, with phone or WhatsApp support |
| Claiming units after a family member's death (transmission) | In person; the paperwork is detailed and easy to get wrong |
| Changing a child's folio to adult status when they turn 18 | In person or a guided video call |
At MutualFundWala, investors choose either route, including those in Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad. Some visit our Vasant Vihar office in New Delhi for KYC and questions. Others never visit and handle everything on call, WhatsApp, and the MutualFundWala app, with the same relationship manager either way.
What happens at your first meeting with a distributor?
At the first meeting, a distributor checks or completes your KYC, asks about your goals and time horizon, and explains the fund categories available and how they work. KYC (Know Your Customer) is the one-time identity check every mutual fund investor in India needs.
Bring these so nothing gets pushed to a second visit:
- PAN card
- Aadhaar, with your current mobile number linked for OTP verification
- Bank proof: a cancelled cheque or recent bank statement for the account you’ll invest from
- Nominee details: name, date of birth, and relationship for each person you want to nominate
- Existing statements, if you already hold mutual funds, so the distributor sees your full picture
If you’re meeting MutualFundWala, you can bring these to our Delhi office or share them with your relationship manager online.
A good first meeting ends with a written summary of what you discussed. If it ends with a form to sign before your goals came up, read the red flags in our guide to choosing a distributor.
Where can you get mutual fund paperwork done in Delhi?
Most mutual fund paperwork in Delhi can be done three ways: through your distributor, online on MFCentral, or at a registrar’s service centre in the city.
Registrars, also called RTAs (registrar and transfer agents), keep the records of your units for fund houses. India has two: CAMS, which services about 68% of mutual fund assets, and KFintech. The two launched MFCentral in 2021, a single website for service requests like address changes across most fund houses.
CAMS has run service centres in several Delhi areas, including Connaught Place, Janakpuri and Pitampura. These offices move from time to time, so check the current address on the CAMS or KFintech website before you go.
If you invest through MutualFundWala, your relationship manager raises these requests for you, so most investors never need to visit a service centre.
Moved to Delhi from another city? Here's what to update
Your mutual funds don’t need to move when you do. The units stay in your name wherever you live. Two things are worth doing after a move:
- Update your address in your KYC record and with each fund house, through your distributor or on MFCentral.
- Switch to a Delhi-based distributor if your old one is hard to reach now. You can change the distributor on existing investments without selling them. Our guide on how to change your mutual fund distributor walks through it.
Many investors who move to Delhi want a distributor they can actually meet. MutualFundWala can take over the servicing of your existing investments through a change-of-distributor request, so your units stay invested throughout.
What if you have a complaint about your distributor or fund?
Start with the fund house, then escalate to SEBI's SCORES portal, and use the SMART ODR platform if the problem still isn't fixed. SEBI (the Securities and Exchange Board of India) runs both.
| Step | Where | Cost to You | When to Use It |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The fund house (AMC) customer care or grievance email | Free | Always first, including complaints about a distributor |
| 2 | SEBI SCORES | Free | If the fund house doesn't resolve it. The entity must respond within 21 calendar days . |
| 3 | SMART ODR | Conciliation is free; arbitration needs a fee deposit | If SCORES doesn't settle it. Launched on 16 August 2023. |
SEBI's toll-free investor helpline is 1800 266 7575.

Do I need to visit an office in Delhi to start investing?
No. You can complete KYC online with Aadhaar OTP and invest from your phone. An office visit is optional and helps most with first-time or complicated paperwork.
My father's distributor in Delhi has retired. What happens to his mutual funds?
Nothing happens to the money. The units stay in your father’s name with each fund house. He can move them to a new distributor or to direct plans without selling them.
